Our full day in Chartres, besides touring the cathedral, consisted of a walking tour of town and then a wonderful presentation at the Stained Glass Museum. We learned a bit about how restoration is done and the meaning behind designs (for example, people without shoes meant they are more "holy" - closer to God), and other interesting stained glass information.
We then visited an exhibition at the center which was more contemporary stained glass by Kim En Joong, a Korean artist. It was refreshing to see both classical and more modern stained glass and I was quite drawn to the work of Kim En Joong. It was an included tour that was one, of many on this trip, that I truly enjoyed.
