Rick Steves always signs off with "happy travels" and this trip was exactly that thanks to the great communauté of people on my tour. I would like to dedicate this page in honor of Fred (back middle in photo above) who was a wonderful tour member that left this world too soon to travel the great beyond.

Patrick - Guide
Cat Herder Extraordinaire
Our main guide Patrick was so energetic, fun and knowledgeable. He superbly "herded" the group when that needed to happen but did so in such an engaging style. At a social gathering where we introduced our "buddies", one tour member shared a video about cat-herding to illustrate Patrick's great talents with our group. And the fun never stopped! Unfortunately, Patrick had to leave the tour early due to COVID (sadly, so did a couple other tour members).

Rowdy Replacement & Guru Guide-in-Training
Steve Smith (on left) joined us in Arles to replace Patrick and you may recognize Steve from Rick Steves TV shows about France. He was a nice addition to the group (though we missed Patrick). Guillaume (on right) was a guide in training for this specific tour and we were blessed to have this nice, genuine, insightful person on the tour. He did a fine job taking over temporarily - even with little knowledge of the specifics of this tour. Guillaume is proof that Rick hires fantastic guides.
